Drew Turner

Drew Turner serves as President of CSA Search & Consulting, transitioning into the role in January 2023 after serving as the firm’s Vice President and COO beginning in 2019. As President, Drew has led the company to back-to-back record years, developing a dynamic strategic vision that has established CSA as one of the preeminent search and consulting firms in higher education and intercollegiate athletics. 

Drew has led more than 250 search projects for senior leaders in higher education and athletics. Drew’s diversity of consulting experience is demonstrated by some of the recent searches that he has led with the following partners: 

  • Senior Vice President and Athletics Director at The Ohio State University
  • Head Football Coach at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill
  • Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Texas A&M University
  • Head Baseball Coach at Austin Peay State University
  • Director of Athletics at Marquette University

Prior Experience

Drew spent nearly a decade working in higher education and college athletics; prior to leaving campus for CSA, Drew served as the Associate Athletics Director at Old Dominion University. During his six years with the Monarchs, Drew successfully chaired a $40M athletics fundraising campaign, served as a member of the executive committee for a $70M renovation of the S.B. Ballard Football Stadium, was a member of the President’s $250M university campaign steering committee, served as the sport administrator for several varsity programs, and was a member of the Athletic Director’s and Vice President’s senior leadership teams. 

Before his time at ODU, Drew held positions at Duke University and the University of South Carolina.

Education

Drew received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from ODU. Before transferring to South Carolina, Drew attended Elon University, where he was a member of the football team.

Recognition and Service

Drew was recently recognized by the national publication The Athletic as a member of their “40 under 40” class, which highlights the most influential people in DI Men’s College Basketball. Drew is also an active participant and frequent panelist for several professional development programs such as the NCAA Pathway Program and the Collegiate Athletics Leadership Symposium (CALS) among others.

Personal

Drew and his wife Meredith reside in Raleigh with their daughter Lucy and yellow lab, Granby.
